Molly

Isn't there some rule about how many times your heart can be stolen?! I ask you, really! My heart has now been stolen a 3rd time by the sweetest most adorable ball of fur anyone could possibly imagine. Now I have previously had my heart stolen by the man of my dreams and a crazy cool cat (How's THAT for an alliteration?), and now, once again, I have fallen head over heels in love.  Molly is a mixed breed 5 week old puppy that already has more personality then even she knows what to do with.  Her timing was less then perfect but who could have resisted this adorable squeeky cheeky little thing. Michael and I cannot wait to start taking her on walks and to the dog park. We have been wanting a dog for a while no and hey - no time like the present, right?!  She will sure be a fun addition to our lives and will keep us on our toes. Let the puppy training begin!

Laurel's Last Sail

With a month and a half to go before I officially become a Mrs I am in desperate need of a break.  Lucky for me my Matron of Honor Katie planned a bachelorette weekend of fun and adventure that will not soon be forgotten! From games and giggles to yachts and parades it was an amazing weekend spent in the company of some of the most amazing girls I have the honor of calling friends. The weekend started out with a roadtrip for me, Melanie and Anna (We had to travel clear across the great state of Texas).  Our trio left at around 10:30 Thursday night stocked with coffee and music to keep us going. We arrived in Houston early Friday morning to meet up with the planner herself and Harley, who had flown in earlier in the week. After naps  and showers it was time to get the fun started.
The theme of the weekend was "Laurel's Last Sail!" An appropriate theme since I have always been a water girl.  Now those who know me know I am not a wild crazy party kind of girl. My tastes are much simpler. Oh don't get me wrong I love to have fun - just a slightly different (some would say tame) kind of fun. That knowledge plus knowing we were all a little wiped from the trip led to a day of games and a little friendly competition.  The five of us had a blast  playing everything from Apples to Apples to Phase 10 and eating our combined weight in goldfish (the perfect theme snack to keep us swimming along).  After much fun and laughter we called it quits, ate some dinner and went to bed in anticipation of Saturday.
Saturday morning broke clear and beautiful. We scarfed cinnamon rolls and of course more coffee and set sail for adventure! My Aunt and Uncle graciously allowed us the use of their boat docked in a local Marina. Captain Tom steered us out in to the waters as us girls enjoyed drinks, and snacks and soaked up some sun. More laughs and giggles made it a perfect day in the sun.  After a while we turned back to shore for naps and showers.  I was kept in the dark about the evening's festivities and must admit slightly nervous upon arriving at a Karaoke Bar.  Nerves were calmer after discovering that Katie had gotten us a private room.  Spurred on by Chic-fi-la and delicious drinks, we sang our hearts out and had such a great time. Not one to karaoke I was surprised  by how much fun it was! I could maybe even be convinced to do it again someday...maybe...Silly crazy fun was the theme of the night and I couldn't have asked for a more entertaining night.  The night ended back at party central (also graciously provided by my Aunt and Uncle) with a Lingerie Party and a modified version of the Newlywed Game.
It was a perfect weekend and a much needed respite from the planning. Thank you to Katie for all her hard work in planning and thank you to Harley, Melanie, and Anna for helping make it a most memorable weekend! More wedding planning adventures to come!
